Harbison-Fischer proves its Opti-Miser Well Control System increases well productivity

(FORT WORTH, Texas – March 30, 2010) Harbison-Fischer Manufacturing Company is preparing to launch a Web site, www.HFOptiMiser.com, for its Opti-Miser Well Control System. The system utilizes innovative technology that is significantly increasing natural gas production in many wells in the Barnett Shale. The site is due for launch this spring, and will feature data from real-life field tests.

Harbison-Fischer has been testing the H-F Opti-Miser system in the Barnett Shale since 2008. In some cases, the technology has doubled well production, sparking interest across the nationwide natural gas market.

The H-F Opti-Miser is a plunger-lift system that uses a well’s natural energy to move a plunger up the well shaft. This efficiently removes water and other substances inhibiting the flow of gas. The unique feature of H-F’s Opti-Miser is its master controller component, which allows an operator to monitor multiple wells and adjust levels remotely to optimize production. Most plunger-lift systems release the plunger only at scheduled times or based on specified pressure levels, resulting in lost profits between the time the well-shaft becomes liquid-loaded and the time the plunger clears it out. The Opti-Miser allows an operator to release the plunger at any time, or set it to release automatically when levels indicate liquid-loading, thereby cutting downtime and increasing profits. The H-F Opti-Miser also allows operators to shut in a well remotely if the situation warrants.

Harbison-Fischer, known for 75 years throughout the oil-producing world for quality products and efficient service, brought its expertise to the natural gas market when it began developing the Opti-Miser Well Control System.
