| H-F Nickel Carbide Plated Barrels For abrasive and corrosive conditions Harbison-Fischer offers a Nickel Carbide Plating on the inside, outside and threads of the barrel. It is plated .003" thick which is twice the thickness of industry barrels. The exception is the H-F Brass Nickel Carbide barrel which is plated at .0015" thickness per side since it is an extremely corrosion resistant material. H-F Nickel Carbide coating contains very small, extremely hard (HRA 88) carbide particles suspended in a uniform and continuous nickel plating. This combination of carbide and nickel is recommended for up to severe abrasion and severe corrosion. Carbide provides the abrasion resistance and nickel supplies the corrosion barrier. The materials below are listed in order of their corrosion resistance with their abrasion resistance being equal. The most corrosion resistant is listed first.
